In our previous initiative in 2022, we partnered with Danish People’s Aid to extend our support to Ukrainian families who were coming to Denmark. Recognizing the challenges they faced during their transition, we worked together to deliver gift cards to these families, providing them with a sense of relief and assistance as they settled into their new lives. During the holiday season of 2023, Huuray, a global provider of gift cards, rewards, and incentives, embarked on a meaningful mission to deliver Christmas help to families in need in Denmark. In collaboration with esteemed sponsors such as Elgiganten A/S, and Dansk Folkehjælp, we aimed to make a difference in the lives of those living below the poverty line.
The funds raised were specifically targeted at 13,000 families with children, who were facing financial hardships. Our goal was to alleviate their burden and provide them with the means to celebrate the holiday season with joy and dignity.

Our Mission: Helping Families in Need
In Denmark, thousands of families are living below the poverty line, struggling to provide their children with the joy and warmth of the holiday season.
Our involvement in this initiative was driven purely by goodwill and not for profit. As a testament to our commitment to making a positive impact, we donated 100,000 DKK to Dansk Folkehjælp for this cause. Each recipient received an extra gift card worth 800 DKK courtesy of Huuray to Rema1000, a supermarket chain in Denmark. This allowed the recipients to not only purchase Christmas presents for their children, but to afford the price of holiday meals and ensure their families could enjoy a nourishing and festive meal together.
We carefully curated a selection of popular retailers for the recipients to choose from. The available options included Babysam, Bog & Ide, Elgiganten, H&M, Ikea, and Sportsmaster. Additionally, recipients had the option to select physical products from a range of up to 20,000 items.????
We sent out a total of 13,250 gift cards to the recipients.These gift cards had varying values of 500 DKK, 1000 DKK, 1500 DKK, or 2000 DKK. The physical gift cards were dispatched from November 26th until December 14th, ensuring that they reached the families in time for the holiday festivities.????
Through our collaboration with Dansk Folkehjælp, we were able to make a meaningful impact by:
- Raising significant funds to support 13,000 families, including approximately 54,000 children.
- Targeting these funds to specifically assist families with their Christmas spending, ensuring they could experience the magic of the holiday season.
- Providing families with the means to celebrate Christmas with dignity, love, and warmth.
- Reaching those families who were most in need, ensuring our efforts made a tangible difference in their lives. Our partnership with Dansk Folkehjælp allowed us to extend our reach and make a positive impact on the lives of those who needed it the most. Together, we are dedicated to transforming the lives of families in need and spreading the power of compassion and the gift of giving.
